Welcome to the oldest, largest and established online LGBT International youth site. To interact with our community web site you will need to register. It’s free to join GTR all you need is a valid email address so that we can process your registration. With 11 years of service an incredable achievement when you think of it. That is dedication for you. As the founder I know the work is never complete and many of my aims and objectives have yet to be completed. The main purpose of the site is for young people to get involved and if they can put something back. This can be very simple from submitting local gay news or information that local members may benefit. Remember this is a global site. What is most important is that we publish information that will be helpful at a local, National or International level. The system in place can provide local information through our topics and Categories very easily and quick. Therefore gather some local information on your nearest gay youth group or even start a GTR streetmeet where local members meet up in a mass group one Saturday afternoon. The forums are a great way to start.

Looks like a great resource center with caring people. Here’s from their “about us” page:
In 1991, a group of adult youth workers and youth came together to create a space by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. It began with a vision from youth, that saw a space that was to be defined by and for them. With a start-up grant in 1991 from the Minneapolis Foundation, the journey began. On January 1, 1993, District 202 opened it’s door as the first and only permanent space in Minnesota by and for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth.
In 1996, youth involvement, programming and staff at the center had grown so much that the initial store front space no longer met the needs of the youth communities involved. The center was experiencing over 10,000 visits a year. As a result, in May of 1997, District 202 moved to its current space.
Over the years, thousands of different youth have become involved. They have created theater, dance, community education, conferences, art, and much more. They have become involved in community and have created opportunities for leadership.
District 202 exists to work with youth in creating opportunities, building strengths and fostering empowerment among sexual minority youth. Most importantly, however, it is about community. As in the words of Audre Lorde, “Without Community – There is no liberation.”
By and For
Through a collaborative process with adult and youth staff, this strong community of queer and allied youth (21 and younger), determine the activities of District 202. In the process they define themselves, create community, expand their understanding of the world, learn they are empowered to speak to their own experience, and they have fun.
Hope this info helps. Let me know. Take care. -MsQueer
